Join us for a fun weekend at Mill Bay Marina! Before you register for this event, make your moorage arrangements for Friday and Saturday evenings with Mill Bay Marina by calling 250-743-4303, and let them know you are part of the SNSYC group. Then complete this registration.

The tour will leave Mill Bay Marina at 10:30 am on Saturday and return to Mill Bay Marina between 3:30 and 4:00 pm. Lunch is included. Please select your preferred type of lunch as you register and be sure to indicate any allergies.

The cost of this event is $200 per person. This includes GST, a $10 discount for the wine tour plus a $10 SNSYC registration fee that will cover the cost of some bubbly on arrival.

There is capacity for 21 people, so first come first served and you must book before March 29th!

Fee $25 per person.

Please submit your online payment as you register.

Children under 12 are free.

Block reservations for 15 boats have been made, however each individual participant is required to make his or her own moorage booking. Please make your moorage booking at Port Browning Marina, (250) 629-3493 or on-line, before registering for this event. Office closed Tuesday - Wednesday. Please state you’re a member of the SNSYC Rendezvous.

The moorage fees are $2.25 per foot and 30 amp shore power is $11 and $16 for 50 amps per day.

The following Rendezvous program has been developed. It may be adapted upon a good suggestion.

Friday. April 24, 4:30 pm: Meet and Greet with snacks and drinks at the tent. Please bring your own supplies. A potluck dinner to follow at 6:00 pm, please bring your own cutlery, cups, plates.

Saturday, April 25, 8:30 to 10 am: breakfast served at the tent, again bring your own cutlery, cups, plates.

1:30 to 3:30 Optional Activities

A.(Register separately) A Guided Bus Tour of Pender Island is planned. The tour will take us to Hope Bay to visit Pender Chocolates, the Art Gallery and the Conservatory Shop. We then drive to Port Washington to visit the Old Orchard farm and settlers area. Onward to Pender Island museum via the golf course. A visit of the museum then return to Port Browning.

Our tour guide will be Simone Marler, President of Pender Island museum. Transportation will be provided by Lightning Taxi with an 18 passenger electric bus. The fee to participate in the guided tour is $22 to cover the 2 hour rental cost of the bus and the 2 hour services of the guide. This optional tour must be booked as a separate event on the Cruising Calendar. If you wish to take this tour, go to the Cruising Calendar when you finish your Rendezvous registration and book the bus tour until it is full.

B. As an alternate activity, or when the bus tour is full, please enjoy the amenities of Port Browning including the restaurant, bar and walks in the vicinity.

4 to 6 pm: pre-dinner informal games and cocktails with snacks at the tent. Please bring your own cutlery, cups, plates.

6 pm: no-host dinner at the Marina restaurant, note the restaurant does not accept reservations. A BBQ is available for those wishing to cook their own dinners.

Sunday, April 26, 8:30 to 10 am, small breakfast will be served consisting of coffee and muffins, please bring your own mug.

10 to 11 am departure time. Assistance will be needed to load SNSYC gear back on-board boats.

We need a volunteer to organize the sailboat race home. Contact the host and plan to discuss at breakfast. Trophy to be won!!

The aim of the Rendezvous is for all boaters to enjoy themselves among sailors' fine company. Looking forward to meeting you at Port Browning Marina Resort.

Itinerary

Princess Louisa Inlet is located deep in the Coastal Mountains and features beautiful scenery and spectacular waterfalls. SNSYC wishes to offer members an opportunity to cruise together early in the cruising summer to witness this amazing coastal beauty. Thanks to Bert Vermeer for sharing his own well researched sailing plan.

Each skipper is responsible for their own boat safety and navigation. Adapt the plans you see to suit the capability of your boat and crew.

The registration form will ask for an onboard cell phone number and ask if you wish to be included in a WhatsApp group. In a previous Club Long Cruise we found that WhatsApp text messaging was a very effective means of communication. Deeper in the mountains, phones which bounce messages off satellites can work well.

A modest $10 fee per person confirms your registration and provides treats and prizes during our cruise. If you wish to change any details on the registration form following your registration please email the Cruising Captain. Refunds due to cancellation are not practical due to the cost of writing the cheque, so be committed to the adventure before you register.

Note date change to coincide with departure from Telegraph Harbour following the "Canada Day" Rendezvous. Some flexibility is possible in the opening days to allow those not starting at Telegraph Harbour an opportunity to catch up. Also allowing time if a weather window is required for crossing the Strait.

Each skipper is responsible for their own boat safety and navigation. Adapt the plans you see to suit the capability of your boat and crew. Notes relating to tides and currents must be confirmed by the skipper.

You may opt in or out of the route planned as you see fit. Please register so we may be in communication. If only certain days in the schedule interest you, please state that on the registration form so we may look out for you.

This is a hop on - hop off cruise, you may plan to take on any part or all of it. We hope you will want to lead an activity at one of the sites and participate in Happy Hour Celebrations. Fly your Burgee Proudly!!

Marinas will not be holding places for SNSYC boats based on this itinerary as they would for a regular Rendezvous. So make your personal registrations early when you decide the parts of the cruise that you wish to join.

We invite you to join a WhatsApp communication group using your cell phone for text messages to keep the Cruise members connected. WhatsApp has been a valuable communication tool for past cruises.

There is no additional fee for guests, the $10 supports your event registration.
